THE FITZPATRICK COMPANY was originally established In 1962 by documentary film director and producer JIM "FITZ" FITZPATRICK. In the early 60's, while Jim was producing award winning films like “The Starbuilders,” an artful depiction featuring the assemblage of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, the younger JIM "JIMMY" FITZPATRICK was skateboarding for Makaha Skateboards, eventually traveling to Europe in 1964 with 12 clay-wheeled skateboards to do demos and make appearances. In 1987, a grown-up Jimmy signed on as Promotions Manager at Powell Peralta Skateboards, teaming up with Craig Stecyk and Stacy Peralta to produce some of the infamous Bones Brigade Videos. Around that same time, a 7 year-old COLIN FITZPATRICK was skating around on a hot pink Tommy Guerrero deck, and was introduced to a 19 year-old Sean Cliver, who had just been hired after winning Powell Peralta's art contest. Some 30 years later...having produced some of his own award winning films, Colin found himself searching for story ideas and thinking a lot about that art contest--how it came to be and what came next...
